Privacy policy

This is a translation. In case of doubt, the German version is legally binding.

In short: the Pong Museum works without registration, without cookies, without tracking and without ads. No third-party content is embedded – fonts, images and videos are stored on our own server.

2. Hosting and server log files

When you visit this website, our hosting provider automatically records information in server log files: IP address, date and time, file requested, amount of data transferred, the previously visited page (referrer), and browser and operating system. This serves the technical provision, stability and security of the website (defence against attacks). The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. The log files are deleted automatically after a short time.

3. No cookies – local storage for the stamp pass

We do not use cookies. So that your tour isn’t lost, the site stores in your browser’s local storage (“localStorage”): your collected stamps, whether the ticket has been torn off, your sound setting and – only if you enter it – the name for your certificate.

This information stays on your device and is never transmitted to us or to third parties. The legal basis is § 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG (strictly necessary for the function you requested) in conjunction with Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. You can delete everything at any time: with the “Reset stamp pass” button at the end of the museum or in your browser settings.

4. Visitor counter

The number on the admission ticket is a simple counter: for each new visit our server increases a single number by one. No IP addresses, identifiers or other personal data are stored; there are no cookies and no recognition of returning visitors. The request itself appears in the server log file like any other page request (see no. 2).

5. Fonts

All fonts are stored locally on our server. No connection is made to Google or any other font provider.

6. Links to other websites

The site contains links to other services, for example myTischtennis, FFTT, USATT, Table Tennis England, our Instagram channel and the Apple App Store. Only when you click such a link do you leave the Pong Museum; from then on the privacy policy of the respective provider applies. No data is transmitted to these providers beforehand. The Instagram video in the museum is our own video hosted on our server – no Instagram content is embedded.

7. Children

The Pong Museum is also aimed at children. We do not collect any personal data from children; the name for the certificate stays exclusively on the user’s own device.

8. Contact by email

If you email us, we process your details to answer your request (Art. 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR). We do not pass them on without your consent and delete them as soon as they are no longer needed.

9. Your rights

You have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and objection (Art. 21). You may also lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, for example the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information of Rhineland-Palatinate (LfDI RLP).

10. SSL/TLS encryption

For security reasons this website uses SSL/TLS encryption, recognisable by “https” in the address bar.
